Related: Is the 2022 Draft the best since 2015

Brad Lambert along with Shane Wright and Matthew Savoie are three of the most hyped-up prospects headed into the 2022 NHL Draft. After a monster campaign for the HIFK U20 team as a 16 year, where he put up 18 goals and 38 points in 42 games, he joined JYP in the Finnish Liiga, where he had solid production as a 17-year-old player, scoring 15 points in 46 games. He should be on track to be a top 3 pick in next years’ draft.

  3. Has an excellent shot, especially when setting up for a one timer on the powerplay.

Areas of Improvement

  1. Has decent strength but can get knocked off the puck battling along the boards.
  2. He is a solid defensive player, but could improve in his defensive zone awareness.

Scouting Report:

Brad Lambert is projected to be the 3rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, behind Shane Wright and Matthew Savoie. Lambert is a dynamic offensive threat, combining high-end skating with excellent handling and good dual-threat capabilities. He is a dynamic offensive player with elite speed, excellent hockey IQ, and very good offensive instincts. Brad also has a terrific shot, when coming down the wing with the puck; but his shot is most deadly when setting up on the half board on the powerplay. As a 16-year-old, Lambert scored 38 points in 42 games for the HIFK U20 team, then as a 17-year-old, he joined JYP in the Finnish Liiga and finished the season with 15 points in 46 games. Besides playing in the Finnish league, Lambert has also represented Finland at international competitions the past two seasons. In 2019-20, he scored 6 points in 6 games at U17s and 5 points in 9 games at U18s, while playing for Finland. Then in 2020-21, Lambert tallied 5 points in 5 games at the U18s and 4 points in 7 games at the U20s for Finland. Brad Lambert is comparable to Florida Panthers Captain and fellow Finnish countryman, Aleksander Barkov; like Barkov they are both dynamic offensive players that have good two-way capabilities. It won’t take long for Brad Lambert to establish himself as a top-line forward because of his dynamic skill set. Lambert has a firm grip on the 3rd spot in the draft, unless he has a tremendous season this year, and jumps Savoie in the rankings.

Skill: Dynamic offensive player with great speed, a terrific shot, and very good offensive instincts.

NHL Comparison: Aleksander Barkov

NHL Potential: 1st line Forward
