Joakim Kemell is a skilled winger with very good shooting skills, and plays with a lot of jumps and can get creative with the puck to beat defenders, and is an entertaining player to watch. Kemell is a smooth-skating winger with a great shot. He plays an energetic, physical game and projects as a top-six NHL winger.

Scouting Report:

Joakim Kemell had a very strong season in Finland’s U20 league where he finished 18th in scoring, with 36 points in 38 games, as a 16-year-old in the 2020-21 season. Kemell was the standout for team Finland at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this year, finishing with five goals and an assist in six games. He was far and away from the best player on the team, leading them both offensively and defensively. Kemell just wants the puck on his stick so he can be the difference-maker and rightfully so as he is a very creative and confident player. The Finnish winger is a strong skater with great speed and edgework and you can regularly see him carrying the puck through the neutral zone. He’s a versatile player with very strong off-puck skills and can be physical, likes to hit, and is not afraid to block opposing shots with his body.  Kemell loves to get under the opponent’s skin and seeks out contact consistently. Joakim Kemell is comparable to Filip Forsberg in his skillset, while he isn’t as big and strong as Forsberg, he has the same play style and strengths as him. Kemell could be a top 10 pick in the 2022 draft.
